Badger Lip Balm

In our house, we are always on the look-out for a good chapstick. Especially since my boys love to use one a few times, leave it on a counter-top where youngest brother comes and sets about 'using' (aka eating) it to his hearts desire.

With something that comes into such close contact with their mouths, it's important to us to get it as chemically free as we can. While shopping online last week I ran across a brand called Badger. In looking through their flavors of lip balm, I just knew I would be buying atleast one!! With yummy flavors such as

Pink Grapefruit,  Highland Mint,   Lavender and Orange,   Tangerine Breeze,   and Vanilla Madagascar

I was practically drooling with excitement as I clicked a few in my cart!



Well, we received our package 3 days ago, and the Badger lip balms are our favorites right now! We ordered the Pink Grapefruit and the Lavender and Orange and they are SO yummy! (I haven't actually tried to eat them...)

They are also really light weight, which is something my husband really likes.

I like that they smell good, and make my lips feel soft and light.

Soleo Organics All Natural Sunscreen

Soleo Organics All Natural Sunscreen SPF 30+, 5.3-Ounce TubeFor my first review I decided to write about our current sunscreen. Why not?! It's summer time! And since I just lathered the stuff all over my kiddos, it's on the brain!

After hearing about all the yucky, cancer causing chemicals found in your typical sunscreens, I decided to try something natural. Or organic. It didn't matter really. As long as it was healthier for my children. I happened upon a site selling Soleo and thought, why not?! It met all my requirements:

• no cancer causing chemicals
• it was organic or all-natural
• it was SPF 30 (I've heard that anything over doesn't really do much)
• and VERY important, it claimed to be very water resistant (after being on a swim team and life-guarding/swim instructing for the past 15 years I've met quite a few of sunscreens promising to be water resistant that turned out to be anything but)

After receiving this product and conducting the initial 'how does it look in person' check, I decided I was going to like it. :) I really like what it says at the top: I'm organic...Knead me before you use me! Anything that needs you to knead it makes me feel really good. Like I know that I just bought a totally good natural products, ya know?!

It has now been 4 weeks since we bought this sunscreen and I am happy to report that it is a keeper. As in, we-won't-ever-buy-another-sunscreen  kind of a keeper. :) I have slapped this stuff on my boys day after day as they play in the pool and have yet to deal with any burns. I haven't even had to re-apply after time in the water, and to me, that speaks volumes!!

There is no fragrance to this product, which could be good for those prone to allergic reactions. My boys all have different skin types and this stuff works for all of them perfectly!

It's not to pasty (as I've heard other natural sunscreen are) and rubs in very nicely.

•  Mom and Dad give this product a double thumbs up for protecting our kids without the use of harsh chemicals
• The Kids give this a product a thumbs up. Frankly, I think they could hardly care! The natural odor (which is not bad) was a little noticable to them when we first started using this sunscreen. However, they hardly comment on it now.
